Twin Photo Shoot

This was my first opportunity to photograph twins and I must say I was a little nervous. The truth be told I had an amazing time and captured some really beautiful photographs.

The twins were so beautiful 

all my friends have commented that it "almost made them feel like having another baby"

Not only were they beautiful, but they were so calm and co-operative.

I spent an hour at the photo shoot and not once did I hear them niggle, let alone cry! This was a truly special photo shoot and I thank Eunice and her husband for giving me the opportunity to photograph their gorgeous boys.

What a fantastic party for Cameron and Jake, who are clearly Manchester United fans.

The table was cleverly decorated to resemble a soccer field and the party was well supported by family and friends.

had been raining for a few days, but luckily it held out all morning and the kids even had a chance to foefie slide into the water!

The venue (Jeeks) was great and provided ample space for even the largest of parties and tons of activities for all ages.

The kids were having huge amounts of fun on the foefie slides, climbing the jungle gyms, playing on the skateboard ramps and chasing each other on their bikes around the track.

Some of them were playing soccer while others were jumping on the trampolines.

It looked like the adults were having an equally good time as the food table provided some amazing treats and everyone was catching up on the latest news.

Isha Turns 5!

Isha's birthday was held on the 21st Feb 2009 at Moyo, Zoo Lake. What a celebration it was.




There was face painting, music, dancing, stories, arts and crafts and even the mom's and dad's got involved.









The children were kept amused all the time with a constant flow of activities.





The food was amazing and the special seating for the adults was a huge hit.





Delicious fruit platters and plates of samoosas, muffins and savouries went down very well with the amazing Moyo cappuccinos.






The cake was a masterpiece, featuring a variety of wild animals and all the children waited eagerly to taste.



The party packs were a favourite and they included shakers, beaded bracelets, masks and popcorn.....very stylish!



Isha looked beautiful...and I hope she enjoyed her day as much as everyone else did.

RISKY FUN

Risky Fun.....words by Jill McCallum (James's mum)

The morning broke with me on bended knees, praying for a short respite to the weeks of monsooning, flash-flooding, torrential downpours we had seen. My prayers were answered. As I saw the first rays of sunlight piercing the grey clouds, the bullets of anxiety-driven sweat were replaced with humidity-driven sweat. Nonetheless, the "Plan B" gazebos were not erecectd, but all the other party plans were in full swing.Family after family arrived and I saw parents visibly relax, as they sank into the hammocks, the wine, or nature in general. The kids were put through their paces on an obstacle course. They tried out a maze where {unfortunately or fortunately} the hedging was low enough that no one got lost. Then they discovered the foefie slide.Although Leigh assured me it could take an adults weight, I didn't see any try; but that may have been because it would have taken too long to get a turn from the children.Then they were taken to the dam. A few stayed behind and spun themselves silly on a mind altering roundabout.
Some climed into the tree houses and explored nature from a higher perspective.Those at the dam started out tentatively. Being essentially city kids, the mud seemed, well, a bit icky.

Then suddenly, spurred on by the same instinct that makes kids jump into puddles of water, someone lobbed the first mudball.
War ensued and when the kids returned to Ground Zero they had to be hosed off so that we parents got the right kids to take home!


Two long suffering and gentle ponies carried child after child around a paddock, as the eternally patient Leigh and her helpers led them. Then it was time for the ice cream cake, which was squashed into bowls. Due to a sudden heat-wave, the dry ice and freezer couldn't cope and the ice cream became soft-serve.
We ran out of time as everyone was having so much fun at each new activity that they couldn't tear themselves away for the next. At the end there were some kids that refused to get off the foefie slide, and some parents bribed, threatened or eventually dragged their children home, kicking and screaming.

There were were minor casualties along the way - a foot cut open, a face bruised from a fall out of a tree-house, and an almost runaway fire when the fly candles burnt the fly net. Despite the hoards of bees, no one was stung. So, true to the place's name, there was a lot of Risky Fun!

James's Birthday Party

James is quite lucky guy! He has 2 birthday parties...one on his REAL birthday for close friends and family and another at the end of January for all his school friends.

Jill....the cake tasted great. Must have been all that slaving over the hot stove. Everyone was fighting for the last piece.

The gifts were definitely military in theme and despite the compulsory rain dance it came down in buckets.

Happy 7th Birthday James, see you again at the end of the month.

Oliver Turns 2

Today was Oliver's bithday party at Picinos in Norwood. The kids had a lot of fun and it was so great to see the family again.

Oliver had a Cars theme and everything was beautifully decorated. Andrea's racing car and biscuit creations were amazing as was the cake (which Oliver had already added his thumbprint to!)

He was in high spirits right until the end and had the most fun playing with the balloons and jumping on the trampolines.

This was my first photo shoot this year....and such a great way to start.
